Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

As the face ages and skin matures, vibrant facial contours once present lose their fullness and softness. This is mainly because the skin’s thickness decreases with normal aging and produces hollowing of the cheek and chin areas. Even with proper skin care and sun avoidance, these changes can cause the maturing face to look tired. Many of Dr. Sajjadian’s patients share with him that they are proud of their age and the achievements that accompany their age, but they are unhappy with the weathered reflection they face each day in the mirror. Dr. Sajjadian understands this frustration and is proud to offer a wide range of dermal fillers to help his patients look and feel their best. He offers Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Radiesse® and Sculptra® to his patients as non-surgical procedures to rejuvenate and refresh their appearance in natural-looking ways. Currently we are using dermal filler mixed with local anesthesia. The combination of using variety of different fillers and advanced placement techniques allows Dr. Sajjadian to create the most beautiful and natural looking results.

Dr. Sajjadian and Dermal Fillers

Dr. Sajjadian incorporates the latest plastic surgery technologies and techniques into his practice, using dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Restylane® and Sculptra®.

Juvéderm® and Restylane® treat creases around the mouth, and are also used in lip augmentation. To treat aging skin folds and hollowed areas, Dr. Sajjadian may recommend Radiesse® or Sculptra®, which can significantly improve the appearance of deep wrinkles.

Prior to the procedure, Dr. Sajjadian carefully evaluates a patient’s skin and talks with his patients to understand their cosmetic goals. He selects the type of filler to address each patient’s specific concerns or aesthetic desires. His patients benefit from his discerning eye in tailoring a unique rejuvenation regimen for their faces. Dr. Sajjadian’s commitment to patient satisfaction and personalized approach allows his Sculptra®, Restylane® and other fillers patients to look refreshed without looking surgically altered.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

  • Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses)
  • Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples.
  • Diminish vertical lip lines.
  • Plump & enhance the lips.
  • Smooth out a chin crease.

These fillers replenish the hyaluronic acid you have lost. They do this by filling the space to improve wrinkles and folds, as well as adding moisture to your skin.

Prior to the treatment, we will clean the area and give you a topical anesthetic to numb the injection site. We will then inject a calculated amount of filler beneath the skin in the appropriate areas.

You may feel mildly uncomfortable as the filler is injected into your face. However, our fillers contain a pre-mixed local anesthetic, and you can also opt for a topical anesthetic for added comfort.

You will be able to see your results immediately after your treatment has concluded.

Primarily, the duration depends on your body’s reaction and the type of filler used. Most facial fillers tent to last between six and 18 months.

A liquid facelift involves injecting dermal fillers to plump up the skin. It differs from a surgical facelift in that it doesn’t involve cutting into the skin.

Lip Augmentation FAQS

Some of the top injectable lip fillers on the market today include Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Teosyal Kiss, and Volbella. They’ve all been authorized by the FDA. Clinical trials and scientific investigations have been reported. They also have a long-term impact.

Your results will likely last anywhere from three months to nine months, depending on the product you pick and the amount of filler injected.

Lip implants are a type of permanent lip augmentation that employs implants to plump the lips. Another treatment, fat grafting, is also a long-term lip augmentation option.

The more viscous the filler, the longer it will last.

First and foremost, it is critical that you have treatment with a filler that is specifically designed for the lips. To allow the lips to move and feel natural, a lip filler should be soft and flexible. On the other hand, a lip filler must not be too soft since it must be able to maintain the shape of your lips. To get the correct appearance and feel of the lips, the injector must strike a balance between softness and flexibility on the one hand and hardness on the other hand.

When too much filler is used, the outcome is an unnatural or fake appearance. To avoid this, it’s a good idea to check each area in a mirror as it fills up.  Overfilling may be avoided by filling in little increments.

Many injections over time are another common cause of overfilling.

As you lose filler, the treated areas will appear less filled. However, if the same amount of filler is injected, there will almost certainly be some left over, resulting in a more filled or plumper area. If you continue this process, the treated areas may become overfilled.

An allergic response is improbable. Hyaluronic acid fillers are unlikely to produce an allergic reaction since they are created from components comparable to those present in the body. Only a small percentage of people are allergic to filler. They are, however, more typically allergic to the anesthesia in the filler. However, if you are allergic to lidocaine, please notify us before receiving treatment.

Make sure your lip augmentation is performed by a qualified specialist who has expertise in injecting lip fillers. Don’t succumb to the temptation of visiting a beauty shop or a beautician. In OC Beauty Medspa, the practitioners who work on your lips have at least five years of experience in lip filler injection.

The injection locations may show bleeding, swelling, tenderness, redness, and bruising, which are common side effects. Another risk is cold sores or fever blisters (herpes simplex) on lips or the region around the lips.

  • Excessive or vigorous activity should be avoided for at least 24 hours following therapy.
  • After treatment, stay out of the sun for at least 24 hours.
  • Apply a cold pack to your lips.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Excessive salt consumption should be avoided for 24 hours to avoid dehydration.

After lip fillers, you should wait until the numbing medication has gone off before eating. It’s also a good idea to avoid foods that are difficult to eat, chew, or even messy during the first 24 hours, so you are less likely to wipe your lips and disturb the injection sites.
