Excellence in Body Contouring

Liposuction Newport Beach, CA

When exercise and diet fail to give you the body contouring results you desire, it’s time to pursue another option: liposuction. After all, in Southern California, there is a lot of pressure to maintain a beach-body year-round, which is why many people elect to complement their diet and exercise regimes with surgical body contouring – or, liposuction.

Liposuction is designed to remove stubborn fatty tissue from areas of the body, such as the neckthighsstomach, love handles, lower back, bra rolls buttocks, and arms.

What Can Liposuction Do For Me?

Liposuction is performed on an outpatient basis, at our local Newport Beach surgery center, and anesthesia will be administered for your comfort. The length of the procedure will depend on how many areas of the body are being treated, and the extent of the correction.

To begin liposuction treatment, Dr. Sajjadian makes several small incisions in the treatment area. Through the incisions, he inserts a small hollow tube called a cannula, moving it back and forth to break up the fat. Then, he uses gentle suction to remove the fat from the body. Only after Dr. Sajjadian is satisfied with his work, will he close the incision with sutures, and then bandage the area. He may also place a special compression garment to help the body’s tissues as they heal. These incisions generally heal rather well.

As one of the leading and top liposuction Newport Beach surgeons, Dr. Sajjadian offers three different liposuction methods to meet his various patients’ individual needs. These liposuction methods are:

Different Types of Liposuction

As stated above, Dr. Sajjadian offers three different types of liposuction in Newport Beach.

One option of liposuction to consider is Tumescent liposuction. This method of liposuction involves injecting a tumescent solution into the body to help remove the fatty tissue. As the fluid is infused into the body, the tissues swell, allowing easier fat removal. When performing tumescent liposuction, Dr. Sajjadian can make tiny incisions, and use a micro-cannula for more precise body sculpting results. The tumescent method lends itself to a shorter recovery period, as well as, minimal pain and scarring.

Dr. Sajjadian also offers Power-assisted liposuction. This method of liposuction helps make fat removal easier, and involves the injecting of a “wetting” solution to firm up fat, and then uses a vibrating cannula to break up the fat deposits. Then, the tissues are suctioned out of the body through small incisions. Power-assisted liposuction allows for decreased swelling and bruising, and a shorter recovery period.

What Can I Expect During my Liposuction Consultation?

Are you planning a liposuction procedure? To ensure beautiful liposuction results, it’s crucial to not only choose a plastic surgeon who has years of experience, but also a track record of successful outcomes. Dr. Sajjadian is technically astute, as well as, a master of artistry. To begin the process, all patients pursuing liposuction meet with Dr. Sajjadian at his Newport Beach office for an informative consultation. During this consult, Dr. Sajjadian reviews the procedure in detail, explaining the different techniques and technologies that he can incorporate. Then, he will evaluate you as a candidate for surgery – this step involves a physical examination, where he will note factors, such as the amount of excess fat you have, and the quality of your skin. Ideally, your skin should have a good degree of elasticity, which will allow it to tightly hug your new curves.

Dr. Sajjadian will ask you what you hope to achieve with liposuction. Based on the information you provide him with, he will put together a customized surgical plan. Your plan may include treating a single problem area of the body, or may address multiple areas. Dr. Sajjadian respects the fact that different people have different wants and need when it comes to liposuction. He prides himself on helping patients achieve their goals.

Once you’ve scheduled your surgery, Dr. Sajjadian will meet with you again. During this meeting, he will give you detailed pre-operative instructions, such as the need to avoid smoking and certain medications, getting a lot of sleep, and incorporating a nutritious diet into your meal plan. Following these instructions can minimize your risk of complications, as well as, cut down on the length of your recovery time.

Recovering from Liposuction

One of the most appealing aspects of the liposuction process, is the fact that you’ll be released from the surgery center shortly after the procedure is complete. That’s right, you’ll get to recover in the comfort of your own home. It’s important to note that while the treated area may be sore, swollen, bruised, and/or tender after surgery, these side effects are only temporary.

During the initial recovery period, you should get plenty of rest, and avoid any strenuous movement and activities. Specifically, gentle walking is permitted to promote good circulation.

Further, Dr. Sajjadian will check in with you at several points during this recovery period, in order to monitor your healing progress, and advise you when it’s safe to return to work, exercise regimes, and other normal activities.

Although every patient recovers at a different pace, many people are able to return to work and their daily routine within two weeks – sometimes, even earlier. It’s important to recover at your own pace, and not push your body if you don’t feel ready.
