Photoderm Vasculight Facial
Aging, genetics and pregnancy can cause patients to develop a variety of unwanted pigmentation and veins in their face, legs and feet as veins lose elasticity and begin to stretch. Although varicose and spider veins cause cosmetic concerns, they may also be the source of discomfort and circulatory problems. Dr. Sajjadian is one of the few cosmetic surgeons in Orange County and Newport Beach to specialize in Photoderm facial and leg vein therapy treatment.
Consistently at the forefront of plastic surgery technologies, Dr. Sajjadian recognizes the importance of incorporating the latest equipment into his practice to offer his patients advanced procedures that produce stunning results. Photoderm, or intense pulse light laser, is a revolutionary, FDA-approved treatment that improves the appearance of pigmentation and spider veins with sophisticated laser technologies.
Pigmentation and Facial and Leg Vein Therapy with Photoderm
Prior to the procedure, Dr. Sajjadian meets with patients personally to evaluate their initial conditions, as well as understand their aesthetic concerns and goals for the procedure. Next, he creates a customized treatment plan and thoroughly explains the procedure to patients. He also gives patients a list of instructions to prepare themselves for the procedure. To achieve the best results, Dr. Sajjadian recommends patients undergo two to five Photoderm treatments.
Dr. Sajjadian begins the procedure by first applying a cold gel to protect patients’ skin. Then, he administers intense pulsated light therapy (IPL) to the treatment area, which reduces pigmentation. The procedure may last up to 30 minutes, depending on the amount of area treated. Following the procedure, Dr. Sajjadian may recommend patients apply a moisturizer and/or aloe vera topical treatment to keep the skin hydrated.
Photoderm is a non-invasive procedure that is relatively painless and allows patients to achieve great results for veins smaller than 5 mm in diameter. Many patients are able to improve the appearance of facial or leg veins within two to five visits. Dr. Sajjadian recommends patients space their visits four to eight weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
“I have worked out all my life, and after 2 children, I couldn’t work off the fat despite consistent exercise. I had never had a surgery like this before. When I came to Dr. Sajjadian, he instantly made me feel comfortable. Almost 4 months later I feel happier and I see the results, with minimal scarring. My stomach looks like it did before I was pregnant.”
“Dr. Sajjadian takes the time to make sure you understand what he’s doing and why. He’s a conservative doctor who doesn’t like to rush thing, because he wants the best results for you as possible. He’s kind, caring, and thorough. I would recommend Dr. Sajjadian to anyone who is interested in considering getting a tummy tuck.”

“I trusted Dr. Sajjadian as I was able to see some of his cases beforehand, and the results were amazing. The Dr. made me very comfortable with what I wanted done. When it came to the surgery, I had very little bruising and swelling, and within 3/4 days I felt great. I have been back to the office since and would use Dr. Sajjadian again if I need any more work done.”

Photoderm treatments consist of short bursts of very bright light directly to the skin. This feels like a “snapping rubber band” or brief sting on the skin surface, and anesthesia is usually not needed. Computer-driven programs guide the proper wavelengths, energies and pulses. Bruising is minimal and scarring is rare.
A key feature of the Photoderm is the large “spot” size – 8 mm x 35 mm (1/3 x 1 and 1/3 inches). This large spot size makes it possible to treat large areas, such as portwine stains and multiple leg veins, quickly.
All photoderm treatments are tailored to individual patient needs with a range of technologies that may include Photoderm VL Intense Pulsed Light System, the HGM Elite K1 Krypton Vascular Laser or the Vasculight 1064nm yag laser.
