Did you know that millions of Botox® treatments are performed every year in the U.S.? A record breaking 7.4 million botulinum toxin treatments were performed in 2018, a number that is predicted to continue growing year after year. Botox is one of the most exciting and revolutionary anti-aging products available today and is a top treatment at our Newport Beach plastic surgery practice. Millions of men and women trust Botox for flawless facial rejuvenation. Are you ready to find out what this powerful treatment is all about?

Botox treats wrinkles with a powerful neuromodulator called botulinum toxin type A. The purified form of neuromuscular toxin literally stops wrinkle-forming muscles in their tracks, giving you a tight, smooth facial appearance that looks years younger. Some patients have gone so far as to compare the results to those of brow lifts or eyelid rejuvenation. Treatment is quick and convenient and can often be scheduled during a lunch break.

Dr. Ali Sajjadian is one of the most experienced and sought-after cosmetic injectable providers in the Orange County area. With his artistic eye and technical acumen, he can be trusted to deliver results that always look natural and beautiful.

What Happens During Botox Treatment?

Our injectable treatments are usually performed in our office, in a comfortable and private treatment room. We begin the process with a short evaluation to ensure that Botox treatment is a safe and effective option for you. If you have any questions about your treatment, let us know and we’ll be sure to answer them before your procedure. Dr. Sajjadian is passionate about patient education and wants each patient to be actively involved and informed throughout the treatment process.

To ensure patient comfort, we usually apply a topical numbing agent prior to performing the injections. This numbing agent is applied to the skin and starts working quickly. It will not impede your ability to drive yourself home and wears off quickly. Treatment usually lasts about 20 minutes or less, depending on the size of the treatment area and the amount of product needed.

Dr. Sajjadian will evaluate your facial structures to determine where to place each injection. First, he cleanses the area and prepares it for treatment. He uses a very fine needle to inject small amounts of Botox into the muscles that contract to form wrinkles and fine lines. The botulinum toxin in the product blocks the nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract. By blocking these contractions, the lines and wrinkles can smooth and fade away. Since this treatment works by relaxing muscles, it only works on dynamic wrinkles including wrinkles around the lips, nasolabial folds, crow’s feet, lines between the brows, and forehead creases. Dr. Sajjadian can recommend other treatment options for any wrinkles that don’t fall into this category. We offer both surgical and non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation.

Botox results are temporary, and you’ll need to return to our office every few months for a touch-up treatment. We have an easy and streamlined process for reoccurring treatments to help patients stay on track and always look their best.

Depending on the areas of your face that need rejuvenation, Dr. Sajjadian may inject the product between your eyebrows, along your forehead or around the outside of your eyes (into the crow’s feet). Dr. Sajjadian is a highly experienced injector and knows how to precisely target facial muscles while retaining a patient’s ability to show emotion and make facial expressions.

After administering the injections, Dr. Sajjadian may provide an ice pack to soothe any discomfort or prevent swelling. Patients leave our office very shortly after treatment and are immediately able to return to work and most other activities.

I have been getting Botox for many years but only for two years by Dr. Sajjadian. The results are great and I do not have any pain or bruising. He uses a very tiny needle and it does not hurt at all. I look younger thanks to his artistic hands. He is honest and does not try to oversell you or make you look frozen by doing too much at one time! If you go to him, you will see what I mean...

Recovery and Aftercare

After your Botox treatment, you may experience minor redness or swelling, but these side effects will quickly subside. You will be able to return to your normal activities almost immediately, although it’s best to refrain from strenuous activity or exercise for the rest of the day. You will also need to avoid massaging or rubbing the treated area, as this could cause the Botox to spread to other areas of your face and cause complications. We provide detailed recovery instructions. Our patients love that Botox recovery is quick, easy, and requires no downtime.

Maintaining Your Results

Botulinum toxin treatment results typically last three to five months; after the effects of your treatment wear off, you should schedule repeat treatment. Botox in Orange County, CA FAQs

The injections are not typically painful, though you may feel a slight prick. Most patients find the treatment very tolerable, especially since the injections take only a few minutes, from start to finish.

Results begin to appear approximately 2-3 days after injections. The changes are subtle at first and improve with time.

Sajjadian is well known for creating some of the most natural looking results in Southern California using cosmetic injectable treatments. Laughing, smiling, and other facial expressions can be made while showing fewer wrinkles. Our Botox treatments will enhance your natural beauty.

Botulinum toxin injections do not require any downtime or recuperation time. You are free to resume your routine activities right away. One word of caution: following the wrinkle treatment, don’t touch or massage the treated regions since this may cause the botulinum toxin to travel to another part of your face.

People who are physically fit, have no history of neuromuscular illnesses (such as multiple sclerosis or myasthenia gravis), are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and are at least 18 years old are the ideal candidates for Botox treatments.

Botox is an outpatient procedure, which means our patients may return home or to work after the treatment. After your Botox/Dysport operation, the only limits are that you should not lie down for four hours and that you cannot exercise in a sauna or steam room for six hours.

For prevention :

There are several drugs you should consider quitting one week before your visit (with your doctor’s permission). These drugs thin your blood, making it more difficult for it to clot, increasing your chances of bruising after your treatment. This list includes the following items:

  • John’s Wart
  • Fish Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Aspirin
  • Ibuprofen (Motrin, Aleve, Advil)

There should be no alcoholic beverages or green teas served 1-2 days prior to the injection, and after injections, stay away from alcohol for 1-2 days.

For 1-2 days, avoid strenuous exertion.

For treatment:

To reduce swelling and bruising, ice packs are often utilized. Because the cold constricts blood vessels, blood flow to the damaged area is slowed. As a result, using ice packs before and after the Botox treatment reduces the risk of bruising.

At first glance, there seems to be no real difference between Botox and Dysport. Both have the same active component (Botulinum toxin Type A) and can help with wrinkle reduction. Botox and Dysport are not the same things since their formulations are different. Dysport is a diluted version of Botox that is just as effective. As a result, you may require more Dysport units than Botox.

Xeomin contains no additives, which is a significant distinction between these two botulinum injections. This might indicate that, unlike other injections, Xeomin will not cause your body to develop a resistance. On the other hand, Botox requires refrigeration, but Xeomin does not. While refrigeration by itself may not make one product superior to another, it may make Xeomin more accessible. Otherwise, they function similarly, temporarily relaxing specific muscles in the treatment region.

Botox’s effects might last anywhere from three to four months. As a result, therapy is needed every three to four months. However, if your facial muscles begin to teach themselves to contract less, this might prolong the duration between treatments beyond three or four months.

To avoid the feared “frozen appearance,” Botox can be used in a stylish manner. We use modest quantities of Botox to keep your brows and forehead moving while decreasing horizontal lines and smoothing your face. The most crucial thing is to see a competent physician injector and discuss your aims with them prior to the treatment.
