Breast lift patients want to know that their surgeon is not only talented, but compassionate as well. During his many years in practice, Dr. Sajjadian has worked with a number of women who felt embarrassed and self-conscious of sagging breasts. He understands that breast ptosis (the clinical word for breast sagging) is largely out of your control — and he offers breast lift as a safe and effective answer. Breast lift surgery is the only solution to restore the breasts to a perkier position on the chest and improve their shape and projection.
Preparing for Breast Lift
Prior to scheduling breast lift surgery in Orange County, Dr. Sajjadian will meet with you for an informative consultation. During the consultation, he will explain the surgery and what it entails; he will also inquire about your goals of surgery and desired results. He will perform a physical examination of your breasts, noting the elasticity of your skin and the location of your nipples. Dr. Sajjadian will use this information to draft a treatment plan for your breast lift.
After scheduling your procedure, our team will give you detailed instructions for preparing for surgery. You should get plenty of sleep and eat well-balanced meals in the days leading up to your surgery. Also, you should quit smoking two weeks prior and avoid anti-inflammatory and aspirin medications in the days leading up to your procedure, as they can enhance the risk of bleeding. If you have any questions, our team would be happy to answer them.
Breast lift is performed on an outpatient basis at a local surgery center. Anesthesia will be administered for your comfort.
Dr. Sajjadian begins by making an incision in the breast. He will use one of the following approaches:
- Keyhole-shaped incision: circumferentially around the areola, extending vertically down to the breast crease
- Anchor-shaped incision: circumferentially around the areola, extending vertically down to the breast crease and horizontally under the breast
- Donut-shaped incision: circumferentially around the areola only
- Crescent shaped incision: elevation of the top part of nipple/areola
Through the incision, Dr. Sajjadian will remove excess skin and reposition the nipple and areola to a higher position on the breast. He may also reduce the size of the areola if you’d like. Dr. Sajjadian will take the skin formerly located above the areola and bring it together under the breast to create the new breast mound. When he is finished making the surgical modifications, he will close the incisions with sutures and place surgical bandages.
If you would like to add volume and shape to your breasts in conjunction with your lift, Dr. Sajjadian can place saline or silicone breast implants. This is a common combination among women who have lost breast volume due to aging or pregnancy and nursing.
